Insight Media to run research communication workshop at EWAHA 2022 in Gdansk

Our team will be running a workshop at the healthy ageing event EWAHA 2022, showcasing our approach to research communication, and providing attendees with some useful pointers on how to improve their own strategy.

The workshop will focus on what Insight Media terms its 4S approach to effective research communication. It will leverage the lessons we have learned over many years working with research organisations and researchers as well as offer tips and guidance on each of these four essential stages of effective communication for researchers and research organisations in the digital world.

The workshop will arm delegates with an understanding of how to communicate about their work in a way that sparks interest and provide them with the tools and inspiration to get out there and tell their stories.

Our 4S approach covers:

  • STRATEGY – developing an effective communications strategy for your projects or any specific research outcome
  • SEGMENTATION – ensuring you are communicating with the people who need to know about you or your work through audience targeting and communication channel selection
  • STORYTELLING – communicating your message effectively and in a way that informs and inspires interaction, using words, film, animation and digital tools
  • SOCIAL MEDIA – using the latest digital tools to reach the widest possible audience with the messages that will generate the responses you need

We will showcase and explain how we have successfully carried out each approach with research organisations like AAL, PRACE, and CPMR, universities like the University of York and many individual research projects from FP7 to Horizon Europe. We will reveal simple methodologies for ensuring your research story is engaging and accessible, how to make sure the right people are hearing about your work and how to unleash the power of social media to maximise impact and exploitation opportunities.

Insight Media is a specialist research communications agency working with many research projects as full dissemination, communication and exploitation partner as well as with several EU joint undertakings and research infrastructures on developing cutting edge communications strategies and bespoke communications services.
